Safety Philosophy
As the hazardous-materials logistics sector's leading corporate group, we treat safety assurance as our most important management challenge. Based on our over-arching slogan of "Safety is Our Business", and extending to all of our quality processes and "Safe Transportation Management" etc. practices, the corporate group is aiming to contribute to the continued development of our society.

In order to assure our safety level, every driver is required to go through the steps of "Safety Training" and "Driver Certification".
We have built the safety assurance system that requires our driver to update "Driver Certification" every year through classroom and on-site practical training, where they repeatedly learn our loading, unloading and driving rules and accident prevention measures, as well each work procedure prescribed by more than 400 customers.
Furthermore, "Driver Certification" is controlled by IT, and only who have updated "Driver Certification" are able to engage in our duties.

✔ At Niyac Corporation Group, we carefully analyze even the smallest safety breeches in order to understand
縲the root cause of their occurrence so as to be able to implement whatever improvements are necessary to
縲prevent recurrence. This is what prevents larger breeches from ever occurring.
- ✔ Niyac is transporting kerosene via a fleet of tank vehicles specifically outfitted and branded to handle
kerosene, and only kerosene, thereby preventing the possibility of cross over incidents. -

- ✔ In order to reduce the risk of product cross-over incidents and driver's work-load, Niyac has developed
a pneumatic bottom valve, together with a specialized manufacturer. -

- ✔ Together with a specialized manufacturer, Niyac has developed and deployed a highly functional, compact
縲manhole cover. The compact design maximizes operating space on top of the tank lorry thereby reducing
the risk of a Niyac driver, or customer, falling from the vehicle.
-

- ✔ Every truck is equiped with the digital tachograph alerting the driver, by voice alarm, to unsafe speeds and/or
the need to brake suddenly, the digital tachograph system allows our fleet supervisors to monitor and
analyze by computer, fleet operations so as to identify opportunities to increase safety and minimize
environmental impact.
-

- ✔ Niyac operates all its vehicle on a "lights always on" (day and night) basis. That is, studies have shown that pedestrians are more likely to be aware of a moving vehicle when it lights are on. This extra cognition, between pedestrians and drivers, helps to prevent accidents.
- ✔ Prior to commencing delivery operations Niyac drivers affix a "All Operational Procedures Completed?" magnetized label on the driver's door of the vehicle which asks whether or not all proper operational procedures have been completed. Thus, once the loading/unloading is completed and the driver is ready to leave the site, he/she will stop to confirm whether all proper steps have been taken.
-

- ✔ Niyac conducts comprehensive inspections on all its operating vehicles. At least once per year all Niyac
operating vehicles must undergo a rigorous, formal inspection to confirm that the vehicle and all its
equipment are operating properly. The vehicles must pass both the legally mandated check points as well
as Niyac's before they can be returned to daily operations. -

Niyac deploys field-positioned emergency response equipment and materials at all of the depots throughout the whole country, so as to be able to respond promptly to emergencies such as the incidents and troubles at any place in the country.

Niyac Corporation Group is proud to say that virtually all of our faculties have been given awarded as "Centified Site of
Safety Excellence窶 from Japan Trucking Association.
