Safety Philosophy

As the hazardous-materials logistics sector's leading corporate group, we treat safety assurance as our most important management challenge. Based on our over-arching slogan of "Safety is Our Business", and extending to all of our quality
processes and "Safe Transportation Management" etc. practices, the corporate group is aiming to contribute to the
continued development of our society.

Safety is our bussiness

At Niyac Corporation Group, we carefully analyze even the smallest safety breeches in order to understand the root cause of their occurrence so as to be able to implement whatever improvements are necessary to prevent recurrence. This is what prevents larger breeches from ever occurring.

To prevent safety issues, Niyac Corporation Group is aggressively developing and deploying various new kinds of equipment.

☆Carriage of Kerosene via Dedicated Vehicles

・Niyac is transporting kerosene via a fleet of tank vehicles specifically outfitted and branded to handle kerosene, and only kerosene, thereby preventing the possibility of cross over incidents.

☆Together with a specialized manufacturer, Niyac has developed a pneumatic bottom valve.

* At the same time as reducing the risk of product cross-over incidents, the air valve reduces the driver's work-load.

Processes to Prevent Personal Injuries (customer personnel, Niyac drivers)

☆Together with a specialized manufacturer, Niyac has developed and deployed a highly functional, compact manhole cover.

* The compact design maximizes operating space on top of the tank lorry thereby reducing the risk of a Niyac driver, or customer, falling from the vehicle.

Processes to ensure Legal Compliance.

☆Niyac was the first in the industry to introduce digital Tachographs.

* In addition alerting the driver, by voice alarm, to unsafe speeds and/or the need to brake suddenly, the Tachograph system allows our fleet supervisors to monitor and analyze, by computer, fleet operations so as to identify opportunities to increase safety and minimize environmental impact.

☆Lights on at All Times (day and night) During Vehicle Operations

・Niyac operates all its vehicle on a "lights always on" (day and night) basis. That is, studies have shown that pedestrians are more likely to be aware of a moving vehicle when it lights are on. This extra cognition, between pedestrians and drivers, helps to prevent accidents.

☆Use of 「All Operational Procedures Completed?」 Magnetized Labels

・Prior to commencing delivery operations Niyac drivers affix a magnetized label on the driver's door of the vehicle which asks whether or not all proper operational procedures have been completed. Thus, once the loading/unloading is completed and the driver is ready to leave the site, he/she will stop to confirm whether all proper steps have been taken.

☆Mandatory Inspections of All Operating Vehicles

・Niyac conducts comprehensive inspections on all its operating vehicles. At least once per year all Niyac operating vehicles must undergo a rigorous, formal inspection to confirm that the vehicle and all its equipment are operating properly. The vehicles must pass both the legally mandated check points as well as Niyac's before they can be returned to daily operations.

Emergency Response Network

So as to be able to respond to emergencies as quickly as possible, Niyac has field-positioned emergency response equipment and materials in 25 specially designated "Emergency Response Centers". Further, stockpiled at all of these centers are materials and equipment to deal with chemical spills.
